MTB in Clarens

Wonder if they'd let you ride through the Golden Gate National Park?

You can ride through the reserve. I was there in November. Short ride, two loops one on either side of the main road. More climbing than Suikerbos. You can make it longer by doing each loop and then riding out and back on the Harrismith road but beware of the 22% climb on the way back. This is all road of course.

 

 

 

We noticed a very interesting dirt road heading off from the Harrismith road going to Kestell. That might be worth a look on a MTB. Not sure what else there is.

I would be carefull of the road going to harrismith as it passes Qwa Qwa, haven't heard of any issues but there are a lot of taxis there, then again don't know anyone that trains that side maybe Kansas can elaborate

This is MTB. We do the ride through Golden Gate every year on our ride to Durban. Start day 3 in Clarens and go to Winterton, going past Sterkfontein dam. The first part from Clarens through the reserve is the best part of the tour.
