The Edenglen guys meet at the Grand Slam parking lot in Dowerglen around 6am on Saturdays.

 

Most of the guys cycle to the parking lot and we normally grab a cup of coffee afterwards. All the routes are in and around Edenvale' date=' Linksfield, Modderfontein.

 

Sometimes we ride out to O.R. Tambo and do part of the Emperors Palace route and other times we drive out to Rietvlei in Alberton.

 

If there are novices with us we will point out some of the not so easy parts of the ride.

I ride a bit in the Linksfield area. I enter next to the Edenvale hospital (east of the enterance gate where the taxi,s park, quite safe) there are a good few trails in the area. Then I exit at the south west corner next to the nursery, cross the road and ride on the sidewalk/path next to the golf course all the way to King Davids school and then up Linksfield drive, 1,2km up to the top 100metres of asscent, do this a few times. Back down club street over the highway at Linksfield, immediately left up the bank and follow the track to the river, cross the river and all the way up to the top of the hill to Greenstone shopping centre.

 

Thats my ride once a week in that area.

just my 2 cents worth, yes edenvale pedallers are only a road riding group that meet at the pick and pay in edenvale at 06.00 saturdays and sundays

i have one issue with six in the morning... my domestic comes at seven...

squishy, another option is to join what my mate, paul farrance, dubs "the sunday school". he takes rookies out most sunday mornings. will send his details if you want. i know he's waiting to replace his bike that was stolen in december, but will get the rides up and running shortly.
