  1. Lot's of very good advice posted here. Now go and buy a bike, as per the recommendations, and ride up and down the road, see where that takes you. Either you will like/love it, or you will hate it, by which time you will know what you really need in your next bike. Enjoy.
  2. One man's chamois is another man's thumb screw. The chamois is the GTR 3D which is the same as in their premium brand bibs if that's of any help.
  3. Ordered Tuesday morning, arrived Wednesday morning, fantastic piece of kit. Shorts are comfortable, chamois is detachable as a separate pair of inner shorts. https://www.firstascent.co.za/men-s-upshift-mtb-shorts
  4. Interesting responses to this incident on the forum but I am glad it's sorted and he is on his way home, hopefully next time he just phones hotel staff and team management, school fees paid! Sadly the world has changed and we need to think very carefully how we respond to what we see in front of us on a daily basis. How I miss the days when a good PK could sort out most misunderstandings.
  5. If we are talking song titles, I have one for you. "Three little words". Bike Hub Pay
  6. Marnokk been on Bikehub for 1 month and has 31 ads? That's an ad a day! Must be a bike shop.
  7. I've read on this forum that the dishwasher is the go to machine for helmets. Never had the nuts to give it a go!
  8. I'll tell you what happens when I walk into a bike shop: Some guy saunters over and the look in his eye says "what does this old git want to buy in here?" Just asking for some friendly service from someone who knows what he/she is talking about. Of all the bike shops I've been in, Linden Cycles was the only place I enjoyed going to, and I only got good service from three people there, Joneen, Neville and a mechanic called Mike, he was there a good few years back. Sadly I live and work on the other side of town so it's inconvenient to go there. I've tried a good few shops around town and no one else comes close. You did ask!
  9. Joe Breeze was photographed playing a Les Paul?
  10. Ride mostly on my own there, never felt uncomfortable.
  11. In the words of Tom Pidcock “He's playing with our balls... he's taking the piss!”
  12. I have a Prado and a Hilux, I could sell either one for about what I paid for it. Replacing either with similar would mean throwing in north of 100k, that buys a lot of the extra petrol/diesel required for a lesser vehicle in my opinion.
  13. https://www.velonews.com/events/tour-de-france/primoz-roglic-from-jumbo-visma-to-ineos-grenadiers-both-teams-play-down-the-speculation/
  14. Are the current crop of GC riders riding faster than the GC riders from the bad old Armstrong days?
  15. And Ineos are once again playing spectator. Those guys are overpaid IMO!
  16. In terms of the green jersey battle Eekhoff is a nobody and DSM do not have a dog in that fight. He has certainly made an enemy and WvA is probably going to pay him back at some stage in the future.
  17. Soler looks to be on the ropes!
  18. It certainly is shaping up to be a great last week. Waiting for Ineos to light things up might be a bit much, I just cannot see GT having the fire power. The new TDF contenders have so much explosive power in the climbs and expose riders like Thomas and poor Louis over the short accelerations, put two of them head to head and the gap opens up on GT very quickly. JV do seem to have less luck than Ineos but that may be because Ineos play it safe, too safe. But... it's been hot with more hot to come, there are some tough climbs this week and then an ITT, let's see who can survive. If I were Steve Cummings I'd put Pidcock over the first climb and let him loose on the descent, see who chases. Watching Pidcock going downhill is like watching ballet on a bicycle.
  19. This event always had a strong following on Bikehub in the past, pity that it is not so popular these days as I am in awe of the guys and girls that do this race. I see the weather has taken a rather large toll this year particularly on the racing batch.
