i have to release some pressure in my tires before i can pump them up, it weird but it doesn't seem to let in the air if the pressure is too high

the other day i never did this and just pumped waiting for the air just to go in this never happened and the pressure gauge went to max, i can't seem to get the gauge to work again, are these things replaceable?

Often the little rubber seat inside the valve gets stuck. More often than not, actually. Before you pump, just loosen it a bit by pressing it down for a microsecond. A short burst of air will confirm that the valve is free again.

One day when you have time, take a valve apart and have a good look. Youll notice a sharp edge that cuts into the rubber, causing the plunger to get stuck.

On the subject of floor pumps, can anyone recommend one with an acurate gauge in fine psi increments? Otherwise how are the digital pressure meters from topeak ?

I sold my old pump `coz the gauge was useless and need a new one...
