you use www.polarpersonaltrainer.com

But read up about it on the discovery website,I think you need to register for that with Discovery as well before the time? It is all free though

Single session need to be > 30mins and HRavg need to be more than 60% of (220-age). You get an extra 50 point if your HRavg is more than 70%

There is a limit of 15000 fitness points which is easily made up by doing three cycling races. The points from going to gym (automatic) and the Polar are so small that they're not really worth bothering with, because you can't exceed the 15000 ceiling. But I think the Discovery website has all the details you need.

the 150 points for >30 mins over 60% accumulate to your base fitness points. The additional 50 points >30 over 70% accumulate to your bonus fitness points.

I use the polar system and average 5 sessions per week so i get 1000 points in total.

But if you register with SA Avtive and do 3 races you get 15000 points which is the max base fitness points you can get. Then go do a 4th event and claim you get Zero but a 5th event will score you an additional 5000 bonus points.

Its the bonus points you need to chace.

I get them from:

5th event on SA active = 5000

Fitness test achieving excellent fitness = 7500 points (done during peak fitness)

50 >30min sessions over 70% HR = 2500 points (done throughout the year.

Last year me and the wife ended on 129 000 points been on diamond now for 3rd year

How do you get to 15000 doing three races? Going to gym, 150 point, using polar while in the gym, 150 points, heart rate above 70% for 30min another 50.

You get points if you sign up for the SA Active benefit. Unfortunately, you can't have the gym discount and SA Active benefit at the same time.

Since when did this rule come in - i've always had the gym benefit and got all the claimed points through SAactive at the same time.

Hmmm, I was wrong. Serves me right for listening to the consultant, rather than finding out for myself.

I checked the website and it's only Virgin Active, Planet Fitness and Run/Walk for Life that are mutually exclusive. You can join other partners in addition to one of those three.

What exactly is the SA Active Benefit and how does it work as i have both.

Both a Gym Membership with it's once off fee that i have had for the last 6 or 7 years and then I have an SA Active membership as well which costs me between R95 a few years ago to R140 per year for renewal this year which i find well worth it as by the end of January i already have my 20000 Vitality points in the bag

Is there a different type of SA Active Membership ?

I was wrong about SA Active. You can have both.

I don't use the SA Active membership as they don't seem to have any road races and I can fill up my fitness points in other ways.

You can add your own events provided you have a URL Link to a results page they can verify to.

I mostly use it for road races ( running ) and the system had changed now so that if one person adds an event that wasnt listed it becomes available for others to use as well so you dont have several people submitting to have the same race added
