If you look at the picture below, you will notice that the clamping area has been "roughed" up, looks like some sand impregnated into the carbon's resin coating, this aides in clamping stregnth.

My question is this: I have a brand new Ritchey bar exactly as per the pic, mine does NOT have the "rough" area, if I use some torque paste when fitting the bars will it be as good or not? Will I run the risk of the bar slipping inside the stem's clamp?. (IĀ use a Ritchey WCS wet black stem)
