Carbon bars clamping zone

If you look at the picture below, you will notice that the clamping area has been "roughed" up, looks like some sand impregnated into the carbon's resin coating, this aides in clamping stregnth.

My question is this: I have a brand new Ritchey bar exactly as per the pic, mine does NOT have the "rough" area, if I use some torque paste when fitting the bars will it be as good or not? Will I run the risk of the bar slipping inside the stem's clamp?. (I use a Ritchey WCS wet black stem)

Carbon assembly paste will do the job just fine as long as the clamp and bar are meant for each other.

I don't think that is to strengthen the bars but more for better grip in the stem. I'm sure paste will be fine if you use a torque wrench.
