Jooste's camera

Well, got one of these fine pieces or equipment - must say, audio and video quality is absolutely great!

I do have one concern though - we went to practice some table tops and small jumps this morning, and took it along for some footage.

Firstly, I mounted the camera facing too low, so for the first part you have a great view of the piece of single track immediately in front of the bike, but that was my fault.

We then made turns to hold the camera while the other guy does the jumps so we can scrutinise our mad skills afterwards and see where (and if) we could improve - makes sense right?

Problem is though, on the one jump, I pulled some serious air, felt like I could cook a steak in the time I was sailing through the air, but looking at the footage, I barely lifted off the ground?!

Anyone else found this with these cameras?

LOLLOLLOL

Disclosure - the camera is great and works wonderful, would have just been nice to blame something else!

To you, the one doing the "stunt", the experience is prolonged and intensified with an adrenalin rush and you might perceive it different than the on lookers.

I dont now any thing about jumping bikes, that's why I am refering to it as a stunt!  I remember jumping from a plane and it felt like I was free falling forever but watching an unedited version of the dvd afterward, it was over much quicker than I experienced it!  Tongue

Try shooting from a lower angle, close to the ground.

It will make your jump look as good as it feels.

The same applies for when you are mounting the camera on the bike. The closer it is to the ground the faster and more spectacular everything looks.

Very true - the camera mounted on the handlebar makes things look more real, the camera on the helmet made it look like a sunday drive!

Interesting parable to explain perspective...

Try taping/mounting it to your fork. I saw some footage on youtube.
