Should you use a bikebag or not on SAA?

What is the best way to travel on SAA with your mtb?. Use a bike bag or bubblewrap the fragile parts?

It is a piece of luggage that is going to get it's fare share of handling, bumps and tossing around. So pack it as good as possible. Bubble wrap and bag if possible. I do a padded bag and some aircon pipe wraps around all the frame parts. I also insert the spacers between the dropouts.

Use it, lose it, your call. smiley1.gif

After my experience with the baggage handlers, I'm never flying my bicycle on a plane again. Regardless of which airline it is, the bags all get handled by the same guys at the airport

Hardshell bike case....the only way I fly. Except for my Ritchey Breakaway which packs into a fairly standard size suitcase.

Pack your bikes in plenty of bubble wrap. Had my RD hanger broken twice.

Also the aiports are getting sticky about bikes not in bags. Almsot wasnt able to fly cause no bag last year for the 94.7
