yep. My fd is dropped as much as it can be.

Maybe I should shorten the chain even more?

How do I know how long it should be?

It only happens now and then. But as old murphey works, it is not normally at the best of times.

Ok, I just want to run over this shifting thing again.

If I am in 21 or 23 at the back and in 50 at the front

am I more likely to drop it going into the 34 then?

Opposed to being in 15 at the back while doing it or something.

Surely the chain being at a bigger angle (15 or smaller to the 34) will make it jump off easier?

Other question. With this fang thing. Will the chain fall onto the hook, or will it just not be able to move off the small ring towards the frame?

LIMIT SCREW!!!  The chain should never fall off on that side.  Set the limit screw so that it can't shift that far out.

The chain catcher only helps when it falls to the frame side of the crank, not the outside. Obviously...
