Schraeder Vales dont fit my rims and i dont want to drill them

 

 

 

 

I've got the same problem and wasnt keen on spending so much money on a new stans strip, so I cut a valve out of an old tube and used insulation tape on my rim to seal the spoke holes. It works better than my wheel that still has a stans strip in it!

Conti make 20" presta valve tubes with removable valve cores.

Yet to find one in the Cape. Been to every LBS I know and none have stock and some say it doesnt exist.

 

 

 

Any LBS that stocks Conti tubes should be able to order.

 

 

 

Last time I was there, Northcliff Cycles here in JHB have stock.

Bruce Reyneke in Pretoria also had 20" presta valve tubes in stock (doesnt help the CP oke, I know).

First time I was covered with slime and seriously annoyed, after a couple of times you get the hang of it and never look back.  Never had a puncture in a race in 1.5years.

I bought a whole box from him last time around and Im down to my last one, dammit, now we're going to have to pay LBS prices.

I`ve seen the insulation tape and old valve core installed and woked very well. I guess the BMX tube should work better and can not be that difficult to find.

 

Otherwise get a BMX tube - cut out the Schroder valve as small as possible and cut an overlapping Presda and fit it through - should work fine since the air pressure presses then against each other.
