MTB baggies with protection

I usually ride in lycra but have been thinking of getting some nylon baggies with built in padding for Tokai trail blasting. I want something that has some crash protection for the hips.

 

The First Ascent version look good - zip pockets and so on but are pricey and lack any of the heavy duty logos stitched on by some of the overseas manufacturers.

 

Anyone know where I'd be able to get hold of some of those cool MX style shorts that CRC advertises or is that likely to be my only source?

Consider the HOSS Ponderosa shorts. They are light, well padded and very comfortable. Otherwise check out Troy Lee products on CRC. Be sure of your size though, as all the cuts are different.
