Local Bicycle Manufacturing

I found this this morning while going through the government tender bulletins at work.

 

A tender by the Department of Transport:

 

Appointment of a service provider to undertake a feasibility

study to determine the economic viability in establishing a

local bicycle manufacturing assembly plant in South Africa.

 

I am assuming that this will be more focussed on "community uplifment" but still, a step in the right direction?

You get "bicyles" and you get "bicycle shaped products". The stuff they sell in P'nP and Game etc are the latter and I bet that is what they want to establish.

Thought so too. Like I said, it will probably be "cheap ass" bikes that they distribute in the communities.

 

But, I still think this could be a step in the right direction.
