Been wondering just how much difference 100g makes, or 200, 300...Lets take a 45km mtb race same rider, bike conditions, bike, course...all things being equal, adding small amounts of weight, how much will that affect the time the distance is covered in. Is there some sore of formula?

excellent question. im also curious about this. people spend thousands to replace little parts and wheels with ones that are 100 or more grams lighter.

Hi Slowjoe - perhaps with the podium positions it matters, but was wondering about a good rider, who is competitive in his age group...when does it start to make a difference and by how much - hopefully we'll get a fundi who can shed some light

Slowjoe I'm still downloading the calculator but there seem to be a whole lot of variables that need to be filled in first
