some perspective:

Tom Boonen hasn't actually seen the course in Stuttgart for the upcoming World Championships, but he doesn't believe he has much chance of winning his second title there.

"This World Championships is too difficult for me to be able to ride in the finale," he told Sportwereld.be. "Over the total distance you have an altitude difference of 5700 metres. That is 3000 metres more in climbs than last year."

he is a sprinter..not ?

Remember when Booby Skinstad was injured but he was still selected to go to the last Rugby World Cup and he had a lovely holiday. Remember the stink? And what happened? It's World Cup time again and where is our boy? You got it - he's at the world cup! Rugby, cycling, jukskei, some things never change. I know it sticks in the throat until you want to choke but that's the way it is!
