Gera cable & housing

I'm in the market to change my stock issued gear cable & housing with some new ones

 

I want to try the low friction ones...

 

Any ideas what I should get?

 

CWC sells Aligator for ~R190

My LBS #1 XTR stuff ~R300

My LBS #2 ???brand (zooty colours) ~R350

LBS #3 Jagwire ~R440

 

What shall i get?

 

Any past experiences welcomed.

Have you considered going continuous. I've done it with goodridge housings and no problems thus far

Get the Shimano SLR housing by the meter and the XTR inners. Should be about R200.

Sorry to hack your thread. Stewie911 where did you buy the goodridge housing, am wanting to go continuous myself

Mampara's suggestion is probably the best.

 

I tried the Alligator system with continuous cables right before Sani this year, and I had to replace them all when I got back. I wasnt impressed!

 

Gore has a fully sealed system, but its pretty expensive.

the ferrules costs like 70c each. I buy all mine from either Westdene cycles or Mike's Bikes. You can spend a bit more and buy proper XTR ferrules that will cost R50 for two but then you are at the R300 mark again of the made up sets.
