Can one replace a float shock with a swinger rear shock?

Is this possible and can it be done to a Anthem???? :(

Yep, if the spec is correct (you do get Manitou shocks with the correct eye to eye, etc), you probably will need new mounting hardware (reducers, etc).

The Fox agents are in Cape Town, so might be more convenient for parts and servicing.

Yeah I'm always sketchy on the lesser popular shocks in SA since you can never seem to find parts or people willing to service them. Clint if I was you i would chuck your current shock and just replace it with the Fox RP23.

Whats the verdict on the shock is it completly toast?

The manitou agents are also in the Cape, butboth shocks will work

Personally I have an anthem and am running a fox much better, the fox is ultimately the better option

Its not a bust as yet. The one shop wants to send it in for repair. I will take it apart tonight. I have found a seal kit for the shock. will check it out tonight. :(

I replaced the Manitou Swinger on my bike with a Fox RP3 a while after buying it 4+ years ago. Fox is definitely the better performing shock.

Not to mention the fact that I literally haven't touched the Fox in that time(bad bad bad I know but it just keeps going). The one service I had done on the Swinger before switching, came to R785! That was after it started leaking at 6 months old.

The Swinger's DU bushes also seem to wear out much faster.

(Note to self: service rear shock!)
