I have a Fox Float RP2 rear shock and I have been wondering if it is possible to install a remote lockout?

Do I have to buy a kit or can it be done DIY style?

Where do I get all the parts needed to do this?

PS- please explain in roadie terms otherwise I wont understand :D

I'd start with asking Johan Bornman (Yellow Saddle) - he both re-builds, and runs courses in Fork and (I think) shock re-building, so will probably know the architecture of the RP2 and also, probably, the 'available parts'.

"Note: The FOX-Shimano Remote Lever is not compatible with the grip derailleur shifter system"

What the hell is a grip derailleur shifter system?

Ok so my shock doesnt look exactly the same, it doenst have the black bit where the cable is going through but I am assuming that they used the RL model in these photos?

Hi Tankman, spoke to the guys at Omnico the other day, and they said that most of the Fox shocks (front and back) are remote compatible, and can be converted with little effort. Contact Russel at Omnico for assistance, great guy that knows his bikes! I think the grip derailleur shifter system is what we call grip shifts.

thanks mate, will try them.

"Grip ****s" still doesnt mean much to me? Would imagine that those are the ones where you turn the grip to shift!
