does anyone know where i can get / purchase Grade 5 ball bearings in the Durban / Kzn area

thanx , i am lead to believe that their s are of a lower grade than grade 5 ( lower as in rougher finish )

looking for grade 5 as i m led to believe these have the same minimal rolling resistance as ceramic bearings

Contact Johan Bornman (he's in Jo'burg) - I believe that he has a stock (depending on the size you require), and am sure that he could post to you.

They may not have them in stock, but they should be able to order them. Pretty useless industrial bearing supplier if they can't.

I bought a complete set for my Mavic Crossmax SL wheelset a month ago; took about 10 days to get here. Prices great at current R/$.

 

Avoid the temptation to go for ceramic bearings as advertised. IMHO, they may roll fractionally better but they don't last any longer.

I believe he's back and he says he has Grade 5 balls for Shimano in stock. Much cheaper than ceramic and just as round (Grade 5 vs Grade 5). These will not hurt steel races like ceramic bearings do.
