Hey guys when you say giloolys do you actually cycle in giloolys?? And the risdge where abouts do you cycle??

What I generally do is meet on the Linksfield side, at the shops, head on the single track next to the golf course, then go into St. Andrews area Senderwood, Cut across, through the farm, and into morning hill, ride up to the hill, and go off road, then there is about 200m of portage up to the top of the ridge to the cell phone mast, then ride atop the ridge, and descend into the golf course on the other side, and ride out to the dip, and then in the veld next to the police station, and then climb back out the the club terrace centre, and back to the shops on club street single track.

 

Its about 35km, but not easy.

Im quite keen, I also stay in Bedfordview, but usually travel to cycle.

How long does that 35km take you?

I'm damn keen and have been riding those areas ! Awesome just totally unfit for something like that! Just coming off a bad knee injury! But I live in morninghill and that sounds awesome!!!

That 35 k is around 2 hours, and can be extended some more.

Perahps we do this as a Morning ride one weekend first, incase we playing with time and light (evenings). I'd be keen perahps next weekend, or i can do an afternoon this week too.

For years I used to access the ridge from the Cyrildene side from the south west, bit of portage they a lekka ride along the top, bit of downhill to the neck in the middle of the ride but the residents fenced the place off, the guard is supposed to keep the key but its always a bollox story there, I have made a big scene from time to time, and after all its public property.

 

I think there is massive potential for all sorts of trails up there and around the ridge, we should really get it together. The people shall ride!
