Joostenberg: 2h23 2641 Calories (Polar HRM)

That's more than 1000/hr ... No wonder I puked on my new (second hand) bike at the finish

I weigh 99 Kgs ... and have to work very hard uphill to stay with the bunch. I think every now and again a handicap race would sort the men from the boys. There are one or two riders from H group that could do with having twenty two liter cokes strapped to their backs. Lets see how you go uphill now

I feel your pain - I am at 98/99Kg's now - started at 108Kg last year this time - lost the 10Kg all on the bike, mostly riding on the weekend because I don't have time to ride in the week. BUT I have started working more on my hill climbing to counter the weight difference of other riders....

I also had a shake after my warm up but only shook three times... any more and it's indecent.

the only way to semi-accurately work out energy kCal burned is to use a power meter - otherwise you are 'guestimating'

My Polar gives me about 980kCal/hour for a really hard workout and under 700 for a lazy spinning class ;)

these calculated on HR levels achieved, V02 levels (pretty old) and weight (also changes a lot)... ie very innacurate!
