I had a surreal and quite scary moment this morning out on the Klipheuwel road.  I was on my way back to Durbanville when I got to the Fisantekraal intersection and saw a car waiting for me, about to turn.  Behind him a big cement lorrie tried to brake, hit a wet patch that another vehicle leaked onto the road, and came at me across the road SIDEWAYS!Shocked

Luckily he stopped just in time and I squeezed past him on the left hand side of the road.  Not sure wat he hit, but if you are heading out that way today watch out for that spill!  It looked oily to me.

Oh, and about 5k's further I got a punctureDead.  At least it got me AFTER the Geco...

Lived in Malmesbury a few years back. Had the pleasure of sitting on that Klipheuwel road one Saterday afternoon. My '82 Renault 5 decided it was the perfect place for a breakdown. My dad had to come all the way from Moorreesburg to come and save me. Liefie had to be towed back to Malmesbury.

Thinking about it now, it is sad that I wasnt into cycling back then. If I remember correctly, that is a nice road for cycling, especially after they finished the roadworks.
