Didn't think I would ever post something like this but...

After my crank and my BB parted company in the Knysna race a while back, my BB clicks and generally sounds really sick sometimes. I am considering one of three replacement chainsets and would appreciate some helpful  comment.

1) FSA V-Drive Chainset MegaExo 2010

2) Truvativ Stylo Team 2009

3) Shimano LX Chainset T661 but with the 26.36.48 rings

Which and why?

Dont you know theHub by now...the only response you'll get is "Go with whatever you like"

That or some snotty reply not really saying anything...like this one :P

(PS no idea on the cranks, good luck)

Sounds like the problem is your bb only. They can be replaced seperately (unless you itch somewhere and you want to scratch ;)

If you scratch, spares availability, weight and value for SLX is tops! Also consider Aerozine carnks. The weight of XTR at the cost of XT. Happy shopping!

No doubt SLX for the win! - looks good, great value, stiffness and cheap to run (rings, BB, etc) and I think only 40g heavier than the XT...

SLX, good quality, spares available, large amount of aftermarket bb's available (ChrisKing, Hope, Race Face ect) and can use an enduro kitt to replace the original bearing in the shimano bb once its gone.

FSA has a bit of a bad reputation for realiabilty

Stylos are good but limited bb choices, I know Hope makes an adaptor for its bb ans you get an aftermarket enduro kit
