i agree totally with what Garfield said! regardless of the weather, the organisers have to pay the bills and probably land up taking one hell of a knock when the weather turns nasty like what happened at the prestige!

If I'm not mistaken I haven't seen a Joburg City tri in Feb. Maybe thats because of this race. That will be cool... and the race will be tough. The Buffelspoort area isn't flat.

yup the date is correct - ultra 1.9 swim 90 km bike and a 21 km run and there is a sprint of 600m swim 20km bike and 5km run.first 100 entries gets a t-shirt

And Ultra? hMMM, Hmmm hmmm...might do it then. Didn't know earlier it was an Ultra. I should be relative fit after 70.3.

Awesome. Hopefully there is only pre-entries as everyone will now be afraid to enter in advance....

 

Just be careful as they close some events after a certain number of entries like with the BSG vanderbijl.... imagine if you drive all the way and cannot event enter on the day!!

 

Also I like pre entering as you get a T-shirt and you commit mentally. It really helps with my preparation.....

CErvelo not sure if you into mtbing also but the Sasol cross series starts in Jan! offroad triathlon series!! i did the series last year and it was really worth the effort! by the way its also organised by spectrum sport so you know it will be good

do a bit of MTB, but stay off it when training for Ironman.

i think it may be a case of not wanting to risk all the training by taking a tumble just before ironman..... makes sense to me
