Puncture patch

The first 4 punctures I patched went well. Just tried another and it failed. I couldn't peel the see through strip off the patch without lifting the orange ring around the outside of the patch so the patch also pulled off. What did I do wrong/differently that could cause this?

I normally just leave the see through piece on. It comes off by itself when the tube is inflated.

I give it a small cut down the middle and peel it from the middle outwards.

I use peel and stick patches...no such worries...and very quick and easy to use.

Great advise Mampara. I will do this in future, have just not bothered with it in the past

Which make do you use? Never tried it but didn't really think it would work too well.

I've used park tool, works a treat !
