I think the Italians are starting to dump the Italian BB, probably because most Italian frames are being made in Taiwan. Its a bad design to start with anyway.

AFAIK the true made in Italy road frames still have the Italian BB. It would be intersting to hear what frames still have it.

Maybe it's because of standards. It's just them using that system and the rest of the word english. Maybe someday Camp magnolia will also change their freewheel bodies teeth to be compatible with the the rest of the world although I think their big teeth design is better then Shiram's small profile.

Nope, not all. Colnago switched to English BB's even on their Italian made frames (like the EPS). This is becoming less of an issue since the intro of press cup BB's though.
