Commuting Plattekloof to CBD

I want to start commuting from Nerthern suburbs. I see there is a cycling lane along Plattekloof road but it fades out from the circle to the refinery.

Would anyone join me in a commute along this road or does anyone know if this is safe?

I commute from Richwood through to Bellville daily have had no problems on the road. Only hectic area I find is getting from the left hand lane onto the bridge over the N1 as cars try to take the slipway into the city.

I drove along this road at 60km/h. I couldnt believe how many cars were upset I was doing the speed limit.

Glad to hear. Was thinking of Plattekloof -- Koeberg -- Race course road -- Otto.

I used to commute to the CBD from Welgelegen side - I went down Bosmandam rd, then along Marine Drive (there is a bicycle lane there now), and then on Table Bay blvd (sometimes hairy) but never had any problems...

Coming back from collecting my Burger pack at Cyclelab, I found the cycle track in Paarden Island Road. Much easier - takes you under the highway and alongside the BRT track. I only went as far as Salt River, but I think it comes right through to Culumbourg.
