Came across this site while looking for info on that GT Xizang bike for sale. The one on the first page has quite an interesting fork.

Aaahh, these bikes bring back memories.

 

The 90s was when I was still young and raced hard, I had rides on (but didn't own) a Zaskar, RTS, and LTS (even the LTS DH back then). The LTS was actually pretty refined for its time... That RTS was hard as a rock, nowadays it wouldn't even classify as suspension!

 

Also check out the tyres! Panaracer Smoke & Dart, Ritchey Z-Max (damn, those things were grippy), and even a set of Tioga Psychos on that silver Zaskar with the Onza grips (strange that it didn't have Onza Porcupine tyres).

 

I have to admit, the Xizang was and still is an incredibly hot and rare bike. I've only once seen one in the flesh. The one in the thread would even today not look out of place on a World Cup course as far as setup and geometry is concerned, not something one can say for most bikes of that age. I'm trying to figure out if it's a Pace RC35 fork on it, or a prototype Manitou (3 or 4 maybe?) Anyone?

Yeah, some nice old GT's in there, mine would fit in perfectly. You can see how the triple triangle has changed over the years as well.
