I'm sure I read that calories used can be linked to HR as opposed to distance

 

I have fiddled around but cant see that setting any help out there

I think the Edge 500 calculates calories based on HR by default. I doubt you can change it.

My Edge 500 and old polar CS300 show very similar results for similar routes.

Also have it that Calories is based on HR with the 500.

 

If it was distance I would have racked a $*%$ up on Saturday....

Yup, 500 is HR based the 305 is duration based.

Thanks it was just that whilst driving withit it started showing calories used so I thought it may have been setup like that
