Hi all,

I have done tubeless conversions - Bontrager rim strips and juice, but both bikes (26r peace (rigid) and a 29r Gary fisher) have had some side wall punctures which were only just fixable with 'fat worms'....

So..... looking for new and more robust tyres, for the peace they need to be at least 2.2 inches wide, for the GF smaller is also ok, not too worried about weight, more about side wall strength to avoid that psssssss sound and the time spent fixing it, and handling on mainly dry dusty/rocky trails.. my regular ride is groenkloof.

Any body had good experience with a cheaper brand? currently I have Bontrager 'tubeless compatible' tyres (2.2) on the GF and WTB exi Wolf (2.3) on the peace.

Cheers

Have similar issues and the most + mentions I could find for 29ers on this site is Continental Mountain King 2.4 front and Continental Race King 2.2 on the back for a tubeless 29er option.

Dunno 26er.

I run the race / mountain king combo and I am fairly happy, though the 2.2 mountain king is more like a 2.0. If i buy a mountainking again it will definitly be the 2.4 for the front, that should be more like a 2.2 in real life.

My brother swears by the geax combo though slightly expensive.
