Bought a cannondale tandem from them 3 years ago, at the best price. Their service was cool too.

Every now and the I got the same when I used rim tape. Used to "drown it out" with sealant. Then switched to No Tubes rim liner. The valve is built in! It takes 2 minutes to install and I seat even Makro bikes and their lucky packet tyres!

My biggest problem with Babbas...it's highly addictive. Went there 3 years ago and cannot stay away ever since! Fast/ Friendly/Veilig Our whole family goes and we all love it...every single time. Bismarck is a treat. The food is affordable and fresh and leke. Friendly people. A great outing. I can understand if it is not the ultimate venue for race snakes....please keep it that way!! Go harass the social cyclists in Groenkloof...it's cheaper

Have done 80kms on the new saddle. The first 10kms was strange as I have been on the old one for 3 years. After 80kms I prefer this new one. Will post some pics and more comment after Mabalingwe Lion Man. R100 for the first one of you that spot me @ Lion Man by virtue of my ugly saddle!

There was a big explosion yesterday at 2pm. We eventually located the crime scene. It was the sundrenched dry, now slimey, wall of the gardener's room. The steel wire beading sticking out of the front tyre told the rest of the story. The moral of the story: If you do a R300.00 tubeless conversion on a R600 bike the new nett value is NOT R900. It is R450, because that is the price of the UST tyre!

Some of the serious-racing-tyres have very soft beading which makes them difficult to inflate on ordinary rims. An uneducated guess on what you describe, I think you might get those to work if you follow the process explained elsewhere on the hub.......Joe's tubeless rimstrips + slime + soapy water to help the tyre seat on the rim + bomb or compressor to do initial inflate (take out valve so air can rush in).

I use H14R on my helmet with the battery box in my belt and a Magic Shine on the handle bar. The H14R beam strength is more than enough for me and the fact that I can use 4 rechargable penlight batteries in it makes the battery life as long as I want it to be. The Magic Shine is even brighter but the sealed battery unit makes carrying an extra battery more complicated/expensive.

The happy gardener who can take shortcuts through the veld was more than worth the expense! He refuses to wash the slime residue off the rims as it proves his tyres are tubeless

With this kit...no lessons required..just a beer or two Rim tape and valves....that can be a different story.....my first effort ended in an explosion and a garage covered in green slime!

R240 plus 1/2 bottle R70.00 slime The "old" way is 2xR60.00 valves, plus R100+ Riim tape = R220 + suitable rims and only certain types of tyres.

Bought a kit for a 29er + slime and converted standard rims and standard tyres to 100% tubeless in 20 minutes!!! Went back, bought another kit and converted the gardener' Makro special to tubeless in 30 minutes!!!! Needed 10 mins ectra to find spanner to get wheels off and on. No more rim tape for me....this kit has valve integrated in rubber lining that stretches around the rim....amazing/fast/easy

I ordered 1X Murraytourdeforce saddle....remember that was the topic before it was Brookinated. Will report back on how it feels as I intend to sit on it

Luckily my butt is blind so I don't care what it looks like as long as it is less of a butt-killer than my current saddle

What can you tell me about these Murraytourdeforce saddles? Anyone using it? Seem that he has been making them for a long time? I saw the letter and advertisement in Cycling mag.

True! Had one in front of me on Saturday..then behind me...then in front of me..then behind me..until he fell off in the mealie-land. I do not mind them, they give way and understand the "rules of the road"...and look cute with their shaven legs and clean kit.

A great MTB race is one where the first km or 2 is a full width road so race snakes can get ahead, serious amateurs can be serious and us social cyclists can get social immaterial of where our arrival time and adrenalin placed us. A good MTB race is one with a sandy patch 500 metres from the start so that the snakes can sail, serious amateurs can ride around us and we can fall over our social cyclist friends already filling the sandpit. A horrible MTB race is one where the first km introduces single track, walkie talkie stretches, mud and or water and happens to be attended by SA champ type cyclists and their snakey following. When us social cyclists fall, we break stuff...not bike stuff like you...bones and stuff!! So as a social cyclist I had a terrible USN race on Saturday.....when I have to wait a race is really slow. That is why we always attend the BABBAS LODGE and VORI-BERG races. They start with 3+km of road like surface

I struggled with the same question. age 54 Had a hardtail + 2 x faceplants + 2 x ops, then borrowed a 29er duallie...and ended up phoning the bike shop from the ride to order mine. Softer, safer, much more comfortable and cheaper than the excess on my shoulder and hernia ops. OR just borrow one and make up your own mind.
