Hi;

I'm based in Ballito, and moved there recently. Also looking for group rides over weekend, MTB or road. Need to train/ ride with some guys thats a bit more on the serious side of racing. At this stage r doing longer rides on Saturdays at Holla Trails. Not sure were the road rides is, as the M4 seems extremely danerous to ride.

Let me know.

Thanx

dont do the N4, its a suicide mission. i used to stay Stanger, just passed Ballito. it was very often that cyclists got run over by either a car or truck on that road.

there are better roads in Compensation, but i suggest you go with a group, can get a bit quite. Park Cycles is in Ballito, Rob Parkis the owner. he is in the office park across from Toyota. Zululand Cycles is also in Ballito, near the Hirsch store.

You can mtb from ballito to stanger. some good riding. missing my mtb rides in the sugar cane already. think i must take my MTB out this afternoon!!!

good luck.

Holla Trails is pretty cool. I was in Salt Rock for a couple of days and spent a lot of time there. Josh organised for a group of us to be driven out to valley of a thousand hills - we rode down into it - awe inspiring stuff - and then back to the Holla cafe - I think about 75k's over mostly sugar cane fields and some nice foresty singletrack.

I don't find the M4 that bad, especially early morning. The number of riders I see using the road gives me some confidence that if you ride aware of your surroundings, it's not that bad (this coming from a ex-london courier rider..)
