davetapson Posted January 10, 2008 Share Somewhere I mentioned that I squeezed as much of the green slime as I could out of my rear tube (hmm) and replaced it with sludge. Well, what I found out, on top of a mountain miles from home in Pilgrims Rest over Christmas, is that if you add sludge to a slime tube, it forms a lump that looks like a green lunchbar, and thus does not seal holes. What I also found out, is that once you've used your one bomb to inflate a tube that won't seal, the bomb pump (my bomb device is bomb-cum-pump) can't inflate an mtb tube enough to not get snake bites. So got about 1km out of the original (now patched) tube bf I got a snake bite, and then about 200m on the spare tube. I also learned that you can't patch decent snake bites with small patches. I then also learned that I can walk a fair distance pushing a bike. Holy-Roller you'll be proud of me boet - I took my my bike down to pops for a service and de-tubing...
