Beer4Recovery Posted March 25, 2011 Author Posted March 25, 2011 Okay, I have decided to buy a new bike or a good 2nd hand dual suspension. For the meantime, I am still riding my Trek. After 4 years i need to replace my tires, the Bontrager's served me well, what tires would you suggest i replace the old one's with? What price am i looking at for the tire upgrade?
Beer4Recovery Posted July 4, 2011 Author Posted July 4, 2011 okay, so i got myself the Trek Fuel EX 7. Now my old Trek 4300 is just gathering dust in the garage. This is because of 2 bent wheels. I broke 1 spoke on both wheels during my last race. Now, my question is, what (cheap) rims can i get to replace the old ones? the bent wheels are : Shimano M475 disc hubs; Bontrager Camino rims.
Beer4Recovery Posted July 4, 2011 Author Posted July 4, 2011 Can you not just replace the spokes? don't know? Would that correct the wobble? Seems like the damage has already been done.
Mojoman Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 One cannot say without seeing the rims but they will go out of shape if they have a broken spoke, I had one replaced a few months back, cost me R50 at Cajees. Take the wheels to a bike shop, they should be able to tell you. Hopefully!
