Hi Guys

Nice website. I am new to this. Have been cycling for a few years, but nothing too serious.I have just upgraded my bike and want to do some races at some stage.

My question is which Thukle system is recommended for a Toyota Fortuner. It is not listed on their website as a guide, so I was wandering if there is anyone out there who has this setup?

Thanks in advance.

For a Fortuner I would recommend on of those jobbies that you fit to the tow bar where the bikes can stand without having to remove the wheels. The car is too high to use a roof mounting system.

I have a Fortuner and bought the Thule Xpress 970 which fits onto your tow bar. It takes one second to fit and take off. Even my wife likes it because she can do it herself if I'm not there. So I really don't need one that tilts so you could open your back door because I take it off and leave it in the car when I'm not there. Another plus is they aren't that expensive.

Also look at BuzzRack. I was in the market for one last month and decided to invest in the BuzzRack as it was cheaper than the Thule but with better features. Both very good brands, go look at all and i agree with Mampara get a rack that fits onto the ball of your towbar. Takes me maybe 30sec to fit it to the towbar, what a pleasure and when i'm back 15sec to remove.

An important thing to look out for when considering towbar mounting options is the height of the rack relevant to the height of the exhaust. The heat from the exhaust can melt the plastic/rubber brackets and tires.
