what a ride - in teh dry would be awesome - in the wet it was madness - very little climbing but the mud just sucked you in and held you back - 6hrs 15min what a ride

Excellent ride. Damn tough! spent the afternoon repairing my bike. I was really surprised that the winning team only came in 4h40. We finished in 5:27. The conditions certainly didn't help anybody. I saw the last guy finish in about 8h10. OUCH! Great 'gees' at the watering stations. I ended up with sand between my chamois and my butt. The last 10 km felt as if someone was sanding my arse with sandpaper.

Thanks to the Subaru guys. Joberg2c is going to be a blast.

What an awesome ride. Tough as but good. Well done to all the finishers, looks like we had a better time then the guys at Clarens. My missus and I managed about 5:27 or so as well. The Single Track to the finish was too good. Love your work Wap.

Spaso and Tim can you both stop whining.

Agree on that singletrack  Loved the bit along the railwayline as well, was raining at the time and I had this stupid little grin of joy on my face :D Well done to Craig & Kelly for a slick event!!!

Agree!! Me and my Sani2C female partner started off like we were on fire and got caught up in all thehype...then the rain came and I started battling with chainsuck...washed the complete bike in the river (as everyone else), then really battled between km 50-70....then had a BIG Bar One and finished the last 20km much better!!!I still felt it this morning on my training ride...my heart rate did not wanna go above 130bpm!! need some more hours in the saddle before Sani2C!!! for a 43 year old guy, I better take it slower and work harder on my general fitness!!

What a blast! So jealous of everyone who will get an opportunity to do it in the dry. Thanks to the farmers  My wife loved it too but her riding partner had to go on a Bar One diet to keep up

Didnt have the greatest of days in the saddle, put it down to only having had 2 hours sleep the night before, thanks to my 9 month old for that also not having ridden for 8 months and only having done 3 rides before this also thanks to my 9 month old cause he is so awesome and i dig spending my riding time with him

Anyways i called it over at the 54k mark, at the left turn by the rescue vehicle going up the hill. Sat there for about 10 mins before being told the sweep vehicle will only collect people from the 2nd water point so i was forced to get back on bike and trudge on till the 68k water point :(

Thanks to the rescue guy for giving me his coke, probably what got me there

Didnt enjoy the mud or the grass tracks but other than that i had fun and burnt enough calories to warrant a large pizza when i got back to JHB

Sorry to hear that. Well, with the mud I think your 68km equals a normal dry 90km anyway!
