Supervan Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 (edited) Thanks, Zone 4 and 5 it is then. I will calm down the week before, as my bike will be going to Cptn already, so I will putter around on the Mtb. The night before the Herald I dehydrated due to a slight infection in my sinusses (read, I had to pee every 45 minutes) without rehydrating. My prerace meal consisted of a smoothie with Banana, milk, pronutro and some cinnamon. I only took water and some energy gels..... The rennies advice I read the week before, but I have never cramped. This time round I shall have rennies, a good sportsdrink like 32GI and also make sure I have atleast a banana or two with me when I ride. I am not looking to ace the Argus, but I do not want to be so ruined that I do not enjoy the experience of it either, it is my first one. The Argus is a great race... I always tell my friends. The first Argus : Enjoy the atmosphere and use it as a social ride. Edited February 16, 2011 by Supervan
Supervan Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 Yeah, they keep saying that, and I can still bounce off the redline at 205, same as in my twenties racing elite. Yeah, life is good and you also going to sit in this boat.... the reality of life...
Jracer57 Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 hey Gents, I tested my new Garmin Edge 800 today, I'm 30yrs old and set my MHR to 190. weird thing is I hit 205 on my 1st hill while still early in the ride (<10k) - should I be worried???
Jracer57 Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 BTW - check out this link for nice explanation of MHR formulas, includes a calc http://www.brianmac.co.uk/maxhr.htm
