From past splits we need to:

Pass Simonstown at 1hr02, but with Boyes we are looking at about 1hr07.

Crest Chappies around 2hr02

Puke at the top of Suikerbossie about 2hr23

and Cancelarra it all the way home.

WOW my legs hurt already!

that was with *** wind......we can only hope for decent weather for a change!

If not then we go for the best time we can!

Or stop for coffee!

Good luck to the F group - it's do'able but will be hard. If you work together it is possible. The wind, Boys drive, and team work are the critical elements.(my2c worth)

Last year i checked out the past sub 3hours data. We are due for an easy'ier Argus. Have a look at the past stats:

Sub 3's Argus finishers:

2010 - 138 (?) (very windy, boy's drive, 110km)

2009 - 111 (storm, boy's drive, 110km)

2008 - 1781 (no boy's drive) very good weather 109km

2007 - 1340(+-) (no boy's drive) perfect weather 109km

2006 - 815 (no boy's drive) cool weather 108km

2005 - 237 (very windy) 108km

2004 - 936 (good weather) 108km

2003 - 810(+-) (De-tour, very good weather) 109km

2002 - 315(+-) (De-tour, part of the Argus was stopped, HOT 42C) 109km

2001 - 460(+-) (De-tour) 109km

2000 - 384 (first De-tour – 109km)

1999 - 1225 (105km, Maiden Cove finish, Chappies)

1998 - 323 (105km, Maiden Cove finish, Chappies)

1997 - 449 (105km, Maiden Cove finish, Chappies)

1996 - 487 (105km, Maiden Cove finish, Chappies)

1995 – 1654 perfect weather, (105km, Maiden Cove finish, Chappies)

1994 – 1414 good weather (20 000 entries, 105km, Maiden Cove finish)

1993 - 1051 good weather, (4 seeding races were used, 105km, Maiden C.)

Take or leave a few...

Apparently, out of a total of 165 000 individual Argus entries, 7900 have done one or more sub 3 hour finishes.

if u take the total cost of the entry, training...

to ride for as short a time as possible does not financial sense

cost over time

the longer u ride the more cost effective the argus

that is  IMO anyway

Yeah we hear you.

I got a 3:26 from F in '09.....wind and all. There were 12 of us from Edinborough drive.

10 from Smits

7 from Chappies

and 3 across the line together!

Hey nobody said we were betting men.

It's good to have a goal.

Ok i'm going to *** in my pants on sunday or throw up my breakfast along the route.

I'm starting in B!

Hardly any training due our 7 weeks old baby.Going to hang with the boys for as long as i can, from there will hitch a pull with each group who comes past me!

So might just end up in F!

Good luck to all.

Ps if i sit on your wheel an cannot help please understand the above.Would normaly help as much as humanly possible. :(
