Not being insensitive or anything, but after our ride around the Peninsula yesterday, I'm amazed that there is not more accidents/incidents involving cyclists, especialy this time of the year.

The "weekend Argus warriors" is a menace on the roads. Our group tried to ride single file where necessary, stopped at stop streets and robots, etc. But I noticed that cyclists are oblivious to other road users, even cyclist. Had people just pull out in the road without even looking behind them to see if it is safe to do so. Going up Chappies they were riding two, three abreast, swerving all over the road, even into the oncoming lane. I admonished quite a few to stay left and in single file. Got a nasty reply almost everytime. Going under the "tunnel section" I passed a lone lady cyclist weaving all over the road, at times even in the oncoming lane. She was holding up FOUR CARS who were patiently sitting behind her at 5km/h. As I passed her on her left I asked her politley to come over to the left side and stay there as there were cars behind her, and she swore at me in a very crude manner. I told her that a woman ('cause she's no lady) should not speak like that. It unleashed just another barrage of crude words. SHAME ON YOU, WHOEVER YOU ARE.

Big up to the cars sitting behind her not even hooting at her to get out of the way.

Wow that is shocking for the woman.

Definitely not a lady by a far shot.

Notice a general trend though that as soon as us cyclists take to the road in number we seem to loose our road sense.

We almost seem to think that in a group we are invincible and cars will always see us and adhear to what we are doing.

It just takes one careless driver and there we have 15 dead guys because they were in the middle of the road.

I have found that commuting to work has done wonders for my "road sense".

In the back of my mind now I am always thinking that there is a truck behind me that is going to wack me.

So that brings you to nice riding very quickly.
