  1. Hi Garfield, You then just take your old tubbies and fold them up neatly and take one with you. They are pre-stretched offcourse because they were on your rims. When you do get a flat (hope you dont) you take the flat tubby off. This can be difficult sometimes because of the glue. So what i do (and suggest) i leave a small 5cm space/gap exactly opposite the valve with no glue when i put the tyres on initially before the race. This allows you to get the tyre started and the you just put your weight into into it. You put the new tyre on and bomb. The glue that is left on the rim and the new tubby that you put on will be more than sufficient to hold the tubby in place. You will not be able to corner at 50km/h on a very sharp bend. If you get used to changing a tubby it is ALOT faster than a clincher and this whole process can be done in 1minute!!
  2. We were competing in a mtb race. I was leading the womens section and was at that stage all alone with no men around me. I really needed to go to the bathroom (with a nr 1) but was scared that i might loose my position in the race so i did not want to stop. I decided that i will just slow down a little bit and pull down my short and try and do it on the go. Everything went well untill i heard the cameraman's motorcycle coming!! I tried to pull up my shorts with the one free hand but it got stuck on the nose of saddle. I tried everything but it was too late, the cameraman came from behind (my shorts still down) and proceeded about 20m past me. He braked and rode next to me and just said: " DONT WORRY LADY, WE WONT PUT THAT ON TELEVISION - ITS A FAMILY SHOW!!!!"
  3. Doing my 4th Two Oceans 56km, but this time with a full Dog Suit to raise money for the SPCA in Cape Town. Just hope the weather plays along, seeing that the legs will be 50/50 after Ironman two weeks earlier. If any of the hubbers want to make a donation for the SPCA, please drop me a pm and ill send you the details/links etc. It is for such a great cause. They idea is to sponsor me per km that i run, so even if you gooi in a R1 per km, that is awesum! Please guys.

  5. Hi everyone, What is the avg time "lost" on an IM marathon compared to a normal standard marathon. I come from a big running background and thus running is my strongest dicipline. If i can run lets say a 2h40 standard marathon, what type of time will be a good IM marathon time?
  6. How is the Zipp tangente and Conti GP4000?
  7. Hi everyone, What are the current best tubbies available in South Africa? When i ask "best" i refer to value for money; puncture prone; fastest. What is the difference between a R750 tubby and a R1400 one? Thanks guys
