  3. Be careful that you have equal strength and flexibility in both shoulders before adding volume and intensity. Imbalances lead to compensations, compensations over time lead to misalignments, misalignments are compounded with added volume and intensity and this more often than not leads to injuries. (sometimes completely new injuries)
  4. Agreed The tools are only useful if you know what the issue is with your stroke, and you use the correct tools in the correct manner to either compensate or overload. I am fortunate to have learned correct stroke patterns early on, so my biomechanics are "second nature", but many self coached athletes will teach themselves poor form and then compound it with volume and intensity. After injury and rehab, they will have to unlearn the poor form and then learn correct form so as not to re-injure themselves. This is a much longer time frame than learning it right from the beginning - and super frustrating too Get a stroke correction coach - not a distance coach, not a masters coach, not a triathlon coach. Fast and efficient Swimming is at least 70% technique. Once you have the technique locked down, you can work on fitness and strength.

  15. thank you I welcome all advice AND criticism.
  16. You don't need witnesses, I had those results in my hand. They were wrong, we are dealing with this and a few other issues. Again, please lodge your complaint with the CSA officials I want to get this resolved ASAP
  17. Nou maak jy net jou naam gat. Here are your results: http://www.racetime.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/RaceTime-KranskopCycleChallenge2017.pdf This link to the results is news to me as we are only having a meeting this afternoon at 14h30. I will ask them to remove it until we have sorted out the issues
  18. Thank you Jaco We (I) wear 2 hats when putting on this race. 1 - we are race organisers catering for Licensed riders and recreational cyclists. 2 - we are collecting money for the School in the area Commissaire Van Velden had a chat with me afterwards (it's never a chat with him, It's always a well thought out uitkak disguised as a positive feedback). We will end Racing Licence entries 3 days before the event starts next year. A Race Start list will be available for the officials on time so that they can verify validity of licenses. Any Racing Licenced rider who enters after that will be put in the OPEN race. We will continue to take OPEN race entries up to 30 minutes before the start on the day. As for the timing, we will continue to work with RaceTime for, to help them develop. They are testing some other options besides the sticker that should work better for Road cycling. There solution for MTB, Trail running and Enduro Cross work 100%
  19. There are a few people responsible in getting the results out correctly. The first person responsible is ME. I did the entries and my entries team (for who I am responsible) captured the entry data. The entry Data is then forwarded to the next people responsible. Race Time. the must match chips to and entry data on their system. They record Start times and End Times etc The 3rd responsible person is the race commissaires - acting under CSA rules, we have to accept their input. As I was not at the finish, I cannot verify what RaceTime did or didn't do. I cannot verify what the Commissaire did or didn't do. They get paid to do a job and I trust they did it properly. As a Licensed cyclist, You have every right to put your complaint forward to the Head Commissaire if you are unhappy. I am happy to change the results based on their feedback.
  20. At the close of entries at 17:00 on Friday, a decision was taken that there were too few licensed riders to warrant 7 bunches and the cost of 7 commissaires. The Head official made a call to combine the bunches to same time and resources. On Saturday morning, almost 30 more Racing Licence riders arrived. This delayed the start as Licenses had to be verified and a new start list had to be set up. in that the time the Head Official managed to get another Commissaire at very short notice. The rules were bent a little and it bit us in the ass. "no good deed will go unpunished"
  21. We have a 3 year commitment from the sponsors. Later in the week we will have a debriefing with all the people involved. Be sure that I will be taking everyones comments and suggestions seriously and presenting them at the meeting.
  22. They are not online yet David I Will post the link later in the week Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Apologies about the slow entries. We were not expecting so many licensed riders to come so late. CSA officials had to check each racing license was valid (Apparently there is a rule regarding this I learned afterwards) Already planning next years race where we will have a queue for CSA racing licensed riders (and a CSA official) and a queue for CSA member licenses doing the open race Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
