  1. Looks like the same guy who was trying to sell a Bronson earlier. He copies the picture and text from pinbike.com If anybody comes across this Santa Cruz please contact me ; https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/139805-reward-mtb-santa-cruz-tallboy-black/
  2. Had a reply from Crede today. There stock has arrived
  3. Hey. Thanks for the message. Probably just after 05:30. Unfortunely no chance of being able to identify them. All to quick, and I avoided making eye contact. It happened on the crest of Juno Street ( steep road behind Darras Center). One guy came out from the RH side and walked as if crossing the road, when I was right by him he turned towards me and cocked his gun. I was going slow enought to dump the bike and tried making a run for it back down the hill. There was a 2nd guy who had come out behind me. Unfortunately even with MTB shoes the traction on tar is pretty ***, and they manged to grab me. I was about 2min ahead of my group of mates. By the time they got there it was all over. A lot of cyclists use that route for training. I would say that it should now be considered a hot spot and should be avoided. P.S. If you could check out some of the pawn shops it would be appreciated. Right now I'm not mobile.
  4. Battered and bruised. Got a boot in the ribs, and fractured pelvis in two places from trying to make a run for it. Even MTB shoes don't have good traction on a steep downhill.
  5. Hijacked on Tuesday (27/05) morning at 05:30 on Juno Street ( the steep climb behind Darras center in Kennsington). Both assaultants were armed. Walked into the road and cocked the pistol in my face. Dumped the bike and made a run for it. They caught me and took my phone and money. This route is used by many cyclists for hill training. Alive but battered and bruised

  8. I had to cut my fruit to ZERO and I LOVE my fruit. Use an app like MyFitnessPal to get a feel of the amount of carbs that you are consuming. You will be surprised of how many hidden cabs you eat. For a month log each meal. Although some LCHF followers feel that the amount calories are not important. This did not work for me. I had to drastically also reduce calories. The good thing is that on LCHF I no longer crave for junk food (chocolates, biscuits, etc. - processed garbage). Also no longer snack during the day. A Bullet Proof Coffee and some Kefir in the morning will easily see me through to midday. Keep at it, but also make sure that you replace your carbs with increased fat intake.
  9. If you cramp at Modder ........... then your training intensity is not high enough
  10. Similar to my earlier post, just raised the bar one notch. 305km today. 0 km - Bullet proof coffee 150 km - Cappuccino / Scrambled egg with cheese 200 km - Handful Almonds / Two small dry wors 240 km - Sliced Salami / Apple 260 km - Banana 305 km - TOTAL KM Never thought this would have been possible 6 months ago! P.S. Oh yes ...... and only water (except for the last 100km where I used 50/50 water / Energade.
  11. Merry Christmas all yea LCHF followers. Just put 240km in the bank (hopefully earning interest), but here is the interesting part; 0 km - Bullet proof coffee 140 km - Cappuccino, 2 Fried Eggs & Bacon 200 km - Small packet salted peanuts and two small dry wors 220 km - Small apple 240 km - TOTAL KM Never thought this would have been possible 6 months ago! P.S. Oh yes ...... and only water
  12. What constitutes "base points", versus "bonus fitness points" ? IMHO .... the Discovery www is *** !
  13. On Closer analysis my breakdown was as follows; - Get Active: 18,600 (Gym 5,400 / Garmin Upload 10,650 / Event 2,550) - Know your health: 21,000 - Non smoker: 5,000
  14. Thanks to this thread I reached Gold in about 1 week. 50% of my points came from downloading my Garmin activities. Also went to Dis-chem for a Health Check (cost was covered by medical aid)
  15. Just done the online test, must I do the test again in January ? Also the Dischem health test, I had planned to do this next week. Should I rather wait till January ?
  16. Anybody else read this article in News 24 ? The canola oil spill What role does Canola oil play in the diet, is it a healthy fat and more importantly, is it safe for us to include in the diet? View article - http://www.health24.com/Diet-and-nutrition/Healthy-diets/The-canola-oil-spill-20131030 "Unhealthy fats include saturated fat (visible fat on meats, skin on chicken, full cream dairy products, butter, lard" and endorsed by the Heart and Stroke Foundation South Africa !!
  17. Can answer some of the above but not all. I let mine ferment for 24 hours, any longer and I find it is too thick and then difficult to strain. Looks like it thickens more in summer due to the heat. I have a medium size glass every morning after my Bullet Proof coffee. Watch out of having to much if you trying to maintain <50g carbs per day !
  18. That's weird !! I'm doing 1 1/2 hour cycle in the morning at a fairly high intensity, followed by a Bullet Proof coffee, and a medium glass of Kefir. Plenty of water, and no need to eat again till about 12:00 - 13:00
  19. I have been running the Hutchinson tubeless (from CRC) for almost 10 months with one flat. Used a Stan's conversion kit to convert my standard rims. It's quite a fight to get the rims onto the rim and even harder to get the tire to seal on the rim. I use a fitting connected to my diving cylinder. The tires lose air (even with slime) and I need to check the pressure weekly. Otherwise all good
  20. Joined you all on LCHF about 6 weeks back and lost 2kg. Over the past 2 weeks, nothing! Goal is another 5kg. Using MyFitnessPal to monitor calories with my goal set to 2160 kcal (without exercise). Mostly my consumption is below this. Any idea if my goal (kcal) is to high ?
  21. I tried local pharmacy, and Dischem who said they are only available from there in-house clinic. I have ordered from wantiitall. Still to arrive: http://www.wantitall.co.za/ketostix/All/p1
  22. Yup - I use the Garmin 60CSX on my MTB. First used it in Portugal on a 8day stage race (no marshalls or markings). Track was loaded on to GPS by organisers. Use a very good Touratech bike mount. The GPS has on occasions turned off on very rough terrain and needs to be turned back on. Garmin does not know what causes it, but it is not a train smash.
  23. Nope - very rare to get pedals with bike (road or mtb) Google "650D" - new size wheel which may gain more popularity than than 29ers. Drawback is that it may be some time before they in full production. My bike (26") is new, so no change for now - but will for sure consider the 650D later
  24. Check put this guy http://www.dvbicycles.com/ I have ordered a Road Frame, which if this is no scam, should be here in 2 weeks
