  1. My sex, age, gender and residential profile is irrelevant. It is far too convenient for people in general to say that I had nothing to do with the past and then cocoon up in their closed world A good start would be to recognise the past, really understand the impact and then do something small in your life to help heal the huge divide. Can you imagine the collective result if we all have this attitude.
  2. You get tired of "apartheid this and apartheid that" because you life was not afffected in the least during and from apartheid. Let me be clear apartheid is no excuse, not for a second, for crime and violence we see today. No amount of time will ever correct apartheid, Life will get better for the previoulsy disadvantaged slowly but surely but the legacy will always linger. Have a look at the US & Canada today or how Europe underdeveloped and undermined Africa over the centuries.
  3. Why do you highlight one line of the post and pick on that one? Do you agree with the rest? No, I don't intend on educating you or enlightening you. Go and read some books or go into the townships and speak to some of the hardworking older folks there. Go and educate yourself!
  4. Some absurd comments on this post. If a black person is guilty of murder or a crime then that person should be the recipient of the harshest wrath from society and the law. The fact that he is black is incidental as there are far more law abiding black folks than there are not. Unfortunately though, many people, including some on this forum turn it into a racial issue. Words like "them' and "us" are casually used without a thought given to it's intrinsic meaning. References are made to the past without really understanding the real impact of the past. There is even a suggestion for a catastrophic event to occur to even out the numbers. Really bizarre and massively divisive. Such a mentality only serves to perpetuate the divide between "them" and "us".
  5. I'm versatile
  6. As a roadie doing this event for the first time can I get some comments on the technicality of the route. Thanks
  7. If you're not well, don't mess with your health, DON'T RACE.
  8. In near perfect conditions in 2008 the front A group did a 2:40 with VA & VB languishing 6-8 minutes behind. It's the riding style of the over zealous young guns. There's no particular "cohesiveness" just youngsters shooting to the front which keeps the pace constantly high. It still surprises me that VB, VM & ladies leave before them. To date the conditions are looking pretty good.
  9. Same intensity, same frequency, just half the volume.
  10. Clearly you have some mechanical skills. Does look a tad rudimentary though.
  11. It's purely coincidental, I assure you.
  12. You only qualify for VB if you 40+. It's the best 40 year olds and older based on seeding.
  13. A group contains the elites and VA that never made the cut. They are also a lot younger and I guess a bit erratic and gung ho so the pace is constantly high. If the VB dawdles just a bit they will be caught.
  14. I see the VB group starts before the A group eventhough the VB guys were caught last year around Soetwater. Should the start order be reversed?
