  1. Truly jealous of those that can cycle to work Unfortunately I travel on the 2 most dangerous roads in CT, the N2 and R300 through the worst areas i wont even survive on a makro special
  2. What did I say recently on bikehub When its public holidays stay away from camps bay and combine pay day weekend.
  3. Shops would not risk their "name" for a mere inspection fee Lets say the shop charges R2500 and says the bike is good to go, one month down the line theres a problem what will the buyer do........post bad reviews about the shop not the seller So nope I doubt a shop would entertain this idea
  4. While I agree with you.........dont get me wrong, but 1. Why are you lying about the item ? (community forum we will always call you out) hardly used.......lolz bike was WELL used over a course of 6 years 2. If you buying items from a salvage company you owe it to yourself to inspect the items as your reputation is now on the line before advertising 3. Bike was cleaned up for the photos, how did the seller miss the hole ?
  5. Kinda hard when the seller is offering shipping and then lying on the ad to make the bike sound good. These kind of community forums we have to work on a trust system...........
  6. The bicycle belonged to my wife she damaged the frame at the Cape Town Cycle Tour, insurance said they not repairing the frame and wrote it off I then had to hand it over to The Salvage Company on behalf of the insurance (Once they settle you the item becomes theirs) it was then sent to Pretoria. I was watching the forums and ads since as I had a feeling it would pop up for sale and I saw it on Facebook today and Bikehub The thing is im not annoyed at the sale i mean salvage items are recirculated all the time I was annoyed at the lies about the item and it was still broken the hole was still in the photos. Imagine you bought the item from Gauteng and had it shipped only to arrive damaged so that was why I flagged the item
  7. It was reported to Admin I cant recall the user name, sorry
  8. You can push your fingers through the fibre strands ............ yes written off
  9. 6 cycle tours 2 Double Centuries Ridden twice a week up to 100kms on Saturdays EVERY week for the last 6 years, ridden through every winter also (serviced on time) but yes WELL used
  10. There is a hole in the frame behind the crank..........check the sellers photos Insurance said they not repairing so they wrote it off, salvage company took the bike and shipped it to pretoria Saw the ad pop up on facebook and bikehub today
  11. This bicycle has a broken frame...... its an insurance salvaged bike Reported but ad still live https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/road-bikes/905107/trek-emonda-sl5-full-carbon-11spd?return_to=L2NsYXNzaWZpZWRzL2Mvcm9hZC1iaWtlcw
  12. User has 2 posts so might not always be active here Can admin not track them via a cellphone number or email address
  13. looks like the usual driving while on the cellphone Which is our biggest threat in my opinion
  14. You all forgetting the most important golden rule....... Public holidays = No cycling in the "party areas"" Simple rule The last 2 fatalities in CT were both around public holidays
  15. Finally collected the bike we ordered from Best Bikes and we had excellent service from Kyle / Chris. Great to have such a pleasant experience
