  1. I just HATE it when I've typed a looooong reply and hit the wrong "post reply" button.
  2. I'm not sure where you get that from? Well, I've gone through a pair of Keo Sprints in a year as the plastic contact area just wore out. I hope the new metal plate helps with durability, but I think parabat has a point. Not sure what to replce my Keo's with, but I'm seriously considerng Speedplay, but I wat to find out about wearof their cleats first.
  3. Thanks RB. Shake-and-bake... The pain in my heart is real suddenly
  4. OK, where is the tent and the mega crash?! It is Friday after all and we've not seen those in ages either!!!!
  5. Well, the idea is that you do it in one day! I am doing it through the Sporta guys, but that might not be "official". If you want the details on the official one have a look at this site for all the details so you get your certificate and medal: http://www.clubcinglesventoux.org/index.php?sid=2&nav=14 Love this bit of advice: It's warmly adviced the use of the helmet. You have to download the form, fill it in and do the money transfer before you go to France! Apparently you do not have to be specific about the day you are going to climb, but you have to have made the payment beforehand. Remember, REAL MEN would go for the "Bicinglette"Willehond2010-02-04 04:18:28
  6. Before you do it you need to get the official 'stamp' at the start otherwise you will do it and you won't be offically recognised (if that's what you want). You don't have to go with a touring group, but that's up to you. I'm going with two friends and we will be doing it with 2000 Belgians through sporta.be . This is an annual challenge and I received my 'papers' last month with a schedule and loads of extras. Really looking forward to it!
  7. I am doing it in June. CAN'T WAIT!!!
  8. Thanks for the update Samma! Any news on her starting again today? (I am an optimist) Any others who got injured?
  9. Great news! Sounds like she is lucky after all!
  10. I guess mrs C is real happy with the extra help in the kitchen!
  11. Provence in May. Nice. (That's "naais", not "niece") Lucky bugger. Remember to take loads of photos!
  12. Does that only apply to the Belgian team members or to their American and Aussie teammates too?! Very important Also, is it just me or does the SA champ stripes on Lynette's shirt look all wrong? It doesn't look like green and yellow right? PS Flemish, what you doing with the team in May? Is there a guest rider coming with you to Belgium?
  13. They will be European based as they are Belgian registered and sponsored by Lotto. Quite a surprise to see an American, an Aussie and two Sarf Efricans in a Belgian team! Really looking forward to seeing them in action this season. http://www.ladiescycling.be/
  14. [EDIT] This thread started out as a happy one about the Lotto Ladies, but apparently Lynette crashed in Qatar, so it turned a bit more serious! See page 3 onwards for the crash details [/EDIT] Previous Subject: Lynette Burger is so lucky... ___________________________________________ ...she gets to ride with Liz Hatch. Lynette is somewhere in this pic. Wow, cool kit, a Pinarello Dogma AND she gets to ride with Liz Hatch (did I mention that before???). Next time Liz, make a self-portrait too. You know we want it! This team (Liz, Lynette, Ashleigh Moolman AND Rochelle Gilmore(!!!!!)) is going to be so good looking, they are going to make the leontien.nl girls look like dogs! Willehond2010-02-03 07:24:48
  15. No more can be added other than to wear it. Be cool...
  16. Awesome result. What a start in Aus!!!
  17. I think you'll find aluminium and steel to be much more pliable and lends itself much better to the blowtorch warping... Clearly a Dali bike would be so incredibly surrealistic it would make time stand still and that's how you would win!
  18. Using Mondriaan's striking designs is quite clever, but I'm waiting for a bold manufacturer to pick Damian Hirst's designs. Can't wait for bike-in-bed or bike-sections-in-formaldehyde or a completely diamond encrusted frame. Oh hang on, it's been done already. Except, using real butterflies to cover your bike isn't quite a mass manufacturing technique. Mondriaans sounds like a good option after all.
  19. LOL, I just saw the model is actually called the "Mondrian"(sic)! Does that make it art?
  20. OK, time for an art history lesson guys: The famous red/yellow/blue squares "borrowed" by Look, Citi Golf and Studio Line actually comes from very famous paintings by Piet Mondriaan, a Dutch artist who painted these in the ealy 20th century. Timeless art...
  21. Wow, those handlebars are huuuuuge! I bet that's where half the weight on this bike sits. Why such a big drop in height?
