  1. Oh sorry. That explains why I can almost only buy Tacx bottles here!
  2. Oh goodie, now that we are making completely useless points, let me add mine! I just entered the Ronde van Vlaanderen (OK, the funride edition!) and will be riding De Muur a day before the pro's on 3 March!!!! Can You tell I'm excited? (For those who don't know anything about cycling history: the Ronde is like the Argus but in Belgium. Only Belgians are funny, they only care about the Pro edition.) Oh yes, I forgot; it cost me 15 Euros to enter, but I have to pay extra for the medal and the t-shirt
  3. Get Tacx Tao bottle cages. They are light, have a big lip and holds the bottle properly without rattling and you an get them in carbon (or light and good looking alu too!). Plus hey are made with function and strength in mind
  4. I'm sure if they don't hand out medals and goody bags it would be a lot cheaper to organise races.

I think most people would say getting a licence without a test IS third world!!!!!!! It is called the honour system. Like doing your own road worthy check on your trailer in Oz, or doing your own express check out at the grocery store In SA it's called the "I'm sorry your honour" system!

  7. I guess he wanted some more exposure. alot of witty comments will develop soon? Snappy comment! He clearly wanted us to focus on him and with the all the teams there the depth of field probably meant he needed other ways to catch the cameraman's eye. Sorry, those were truely aweful puns. I'll go now...
  8. Stunning pic. GO DARYL!!!
  9. ...and that was probably the best million Specialized ever spent! Great return on onvestment. How does that compare to (y)our return on invenstment for a 150k Pinarolex?
  10. U-oh, sounds like their is a special "team" version of the Pinarello in the pipeline. Better get your wallets ready for yet another upgrade boys!
  11. Take it to the bikeshop, they should know how to handle it. They/you will fill in a replacement form from Bell/Giro. If your Bikeshop is nice, they will let you take a free one/pay 30% for a new one until the claim is settled. If they are not keen to do that, like CycleLab did with me, you have to pay 100% for the new one and get your refund when the claim is settled!
  12. yup.. "oh crap - i havent been in the media lately. what desperate attention seeking stunt can i pull? How about wearing fugly kit. And when that stops working' date=' what magic trick will i perform to get the media looking at me again?"[/quote'] If only.... Looks like they tweaked it a bit and it is a lot better, but I still feel the missed the opportunity to make it look good: Better than this abomination:
  13. I stuff my tubes in an old sock (the thin cycling/running type) because I got fed up with it as well! It works
  14. Driving through Amsterdam with a car is a real pain. I would rather walk! That probably explains why bikes are so popular as they just make it so much easier and quicker to get around in the narrow twisty lanes. Plus parking in Amsterdam is extremely expensive and the traffic jams horrendous. Imagine what it would be like if the 40% cyclists also got in their cars! I usually take the train and then get a rental bike at the station. Something like 2 Euros a day. Bargain.
  15. Don't you guys read cyclingnews.com? Also, their PR chickie was on here telling us about how they are still involved with the academy. Just do a search
  16. I'm sure drugs are also easily available in southern and south america, asia and the rest of africa. The main reason that atheletes train here are: Southern hemisphere summer, temperate climate, first world facilities, english speaking, same time zone as europe, etc etc.. Indeed, but that is too boring for the conspiracy theorists! Plus the drug testers also hang out in Cape Town these days. i'm sure they know the Peninsula better than the riders! ...and again, if you buggers knew what cold really was you would understand what they are doing in sunny SA.
  17. I think it also does TSS which makes it impossible to cheat on your training!
  18. I also have a Canyon Ultimate CF and also had an annoying creak which I swore came from the BB. Every time I put some effort into a pedal stroke it creaked. Took it back to my LBS and the mechanic was quite offended that I said his build was not good enough! He regreased the pedals, as that was the only bit I installed myself, but the bike still squeeked. In the end I realised my rearwheel wasn't properly fastened and after retightening the skewers the squeek disappeared! The dropouts have a paint layer or something on them and you have to make sure the skewers are properly tightened and in place. Hopefully this is your problem too. I haven't had a sound from it since!
