  1. On ly saw this now you bstard! Distorting the truth again!!! Should known... Pics to come. OK???
  2. Is this a new thing? I can only remember once meeting an idiot riding on the wrong side of the road in Cape Town and that was on Tiekiedraai. A guy and his girlfriend/wife/stukkie coming down at speed and nearly taking me out and looking bewildered when I complained! I honestly could not believe that they could do something stupid like that and I honestly can't believe there are people here on the Hub doing something similar. Cars and trucks ride in the yellow lines and approaching them around a corner at speed just seems suicidal. For once I agre with Linnega on the helmet issue here. Head on you have no chance if you get hit. If you travel at 30km/h that car is going to hit you with 60km/h MORE speed. As if watchng out for dab motorists and erratic pedestrians isn't enough, we now have to look out for kamakazi cyclists too. I don't even wnat to think what motorists are going to feel when they see cyclists disobeying the law once again. It can only increase the animosity
  3. Not as quickly as planned! I just started to get ready for the ride when the parents of the wii kids arrived and we had a couple of beers first. Had to be sociable' date=' so I only got out on the bike at 7pm. Luckily loads of sunshine still![/quote'] left my belligerent brats with the ex?they caused trouble for her as soon as they got out the car grolsch? That's scary. How did you know??? Light enough to consume and still not affect your riding. Mind you, I did seem to slide a lot and nearly slipped on some roots. I blame the bald Larsen TT's though...
  4. So does that mean its only 10m below sea level? Don't joke about sea level. People get nervous around here... and just to let you know; the climb is 60 metres ascent! Not sure how many of those metres are above se level though...

  6. Beautiful evening with some hot air ballons sneaking in to my pics.
  7. Then on to the 'Dak van Brabant'/Roof of Brabant. It's the highest point in all of Brabant and it's an old rubbish dump! It's flat out here:
  8. Connecting trails like these: ...and back to this: Then I had a bit of a PAris-Roubaix delay moment:
  9. When Holy asked me today whether I could still go for a ride after 5pm, I realised I haven't posted anything on the mtb routes here. So I took the camera along to take some snaps and give you an idea of what a mtb (or rather atb!) track looks like in Holland. Here goes: A bit wet after a thundserstorm. The route is sign posted with these little bicycle route signs: Fun twists and turns: These pics don't do it justice, but it's got nice flowing singletrack with some very slippery roots and mud: The route was all mine today. Not a soul on it for more than an hour! Willehond2009-07-12 15:34:29
  10. You can't delete it, but you can edit the topic to indicate *SOLD*. Just edit the first post and the topic can be changed too.
  11. It's both 'ice' and 'coke' at the same time! Don't know about float, but it will definitely make you fly.
  12. Man, that's abig ball of coke!
  13. You mean the local teams drag her along to the finish line and can't shake her? ....and then they want SPONSORSHIP??? You make me laugh! South African ladies are well sponsored. They don't need to steal the one(!) foreign competitors lunch money
  14. [QUOTE=Fakes]The international racing circuit issue - there's no problem there. I'm still waiting for facts about a SA rider who is being sponsored by a company in the host country riding in their leagues. Just one will do, and I'll say thats fair.
  15. Bain dead, but rich! They had that skull at the Amsterdam Rijksmuseam for a month and you could not get it. Queues around the block! Even my son knew about it and thought it was cool (he even stopped playing GTA for a second to read about it...) The weirdest thing about the skull is that Hirst did not really create it. He has a team of 'artists' who go out and build his 'ideas'. Not even his own work!
  16. Thought I could delete the post, but SOMEONE had already replied... Man, those wheels...I can taste the rancid bile...
  17. Man, is this thing FUGLY!!! Did not think it was possible to have one uglier than the Giro one. I don't care if Damien Hirst designed it, its UGLY. At least he didn't cut it up and stick it in formaldehyde (which he should have done!) http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601088&sid=aUWP6my84eow Imagine if Tracy Emin designed it...
