  1. I mailed him and he said he had the bike serviced. 3K for a service? You've obviously never had your bike serviced at BMC yet? (You pay, but it's like a new bike! Worth every penny)
  2. If YOU don't respond to THEM then there is no race! So don't get involved in the first place. Who cares if it is pathetic, some of my best training rides have come about because I pushed myself by getting involved in a meaningless pi$$ing contest!!! Only this week I went out for a ride and needed to push, but I was lazy. Then I saw a guy, knuckled down just to catch him (as a target, see motivational only!) and then the bugger responded by going faster. WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO?! We ended up rotating for some nice hard paced riding. Great training. What is wrong with that? Lihgten up guys, it's only a bike.
  3. Man, am I feeling the love or what?! UHHHHMMMM
  4. Is this a bad time to mention that mr Bos seems to have recovered quite quickly from his mental scars?! Bos wins after turbulent week <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Theo Bos of Continental Team Rabobank brought in his first pro win on Sunday in the Ronde van Noord-Holland, just one week after his controversial finale in the Tour of Turkey, when he brought down Tour leader Daryl Impey. Sunday's finish was a mass sprint, as was the race finish the previous week. Impey, who went on to win the Tour of Turkey, was seriously injured in a crash only 800 metres before the finish line, when Bos brought him down. Bos said, "I absolutely needed this win. The week was very difficult. I could think of nothing other than last Sunday." The 24 year-old used the race on Sunday "to blow off some steam. And if you can win then, that is extra good." Bos said that he did not hear any negative comments from colleagues about the Turkey incident. "I hear a lot of riders say they are persuaded that I did not take Impey down on purpose. And also that they can fully understand what happens in a sprint at full speed." He has already sent Impey an email, Bos noted, "and that contact was not unpleasant. I will call him soon. I hope that he gets well quickly." (SW)
  5. I've been riding SRAM Force for a week now and have been pleasantly surprised. Weight wise it's the same as Dura Ace and shifting wise it is noisy, but smooth and I love the tripple upshift ability and the downshifts work just like Shimano. Plus I can keep my Shimano wheels (BIG advantage if you want to swap wheels between old and new bikes) as the freewheel is the same as Shimano. I am converted to SRAM.
  6. Eish, you need to learn bribespeak boet!
  7. Remember the cost of spares! I wonder how many thousands a replacement Super Record cassette costs?
  8. Sounds like mr JMPD just wanted you to 'buy him a cold drink'....
  9. I really like the Eastons and from what I've heard it seems to be really fantastic wheels. However, I had a deep, primal urge to posess a set of Zipp 404's from the moment I saw them and I recently managed to satisfy it. Is it the best wheel out there? I don't know. Can I be any happier? No. I am 100% bling happy...
  10. Sunshine, what sunshine? Oh, the bit in the photos! Optical illusion me thinks... The roads might be flat as pancakes, but the racing is much, much harder. Throw in some wind, a couple of Belgians, a smattering of Germans and I have still to finish a crit. Yes, FINISH one, not even in the peloton! See, that's why I had to get a new bike.
  11. Mine is fine' date=' I promise! That's probably a shot of an old model. I feel I need to loose the headset spacers, but how the heck do I due it. Slowly I guess... See, it looks fine: Willehond2009-04-26 12:30:21
  12. I wonder if the bolt is just lower down or how does that work. There is no bolt inside I'm freaked now... Looks like it is fastened from the outside on the headset collar. I'm still worried about where the freaking water is going to go (straight to my BB I think. Sht) Anyway, it was designed by Germans, I am sure they have a very good reason for it.
  13. OK, I just came back from the maiden voyage/Dutch bikep0rn photo shoot. All I can say is I am in love!!!! I felt like I was floating and the SRAM Force is fantastic. I am converted after one ride. Upshifting three gears, WOW. 6,8kg's without pedals. Strangest thing happened though, I kid you not, a guy flagged me down in the middle of the road to ask me if he can have a closer look at the bike because he wants to get one. FREAKY! I was obviously beaming like a proud father. Also stopped numerous times for some nice bikeprn shots. Tomorrow, long ride! not complete without a gratuotous windmill shot: Canalside shot The hole shot! For the mountainbikers (leaning against a MTB sign!) One for the ramblers: Willehond2009-04-24 12:19:32
  14. Thanks guys, going to the LBS NOW to pick her up!!! Posting soon...
  15. All Ritchey WCS; Bar and stem are alu, seatpost is carbon. I prefer knowing my steering aint going to snap on me so I went with metal, plus it's just as light as the carbon ones! * Sorry for the hijack! Will go back to my own thread soon* It's Here! Willehond's new ride!Willehond2009-04-24 06:22:25
  16. This one:
  17. Oh you will, believe me.
  18. I doubt it. Strangely SRAM also recently brought out their own carbon wheels in direct competition with Zipp! Strange, but I guess they are aimed at a slightly different market segment.
  19. Geez, I feel stupid too! Didn't know that SRAM took over Zipp, but I'm glad I got SRAM put on my new bike with it's Zipp wheels!!! Going to go and pick it up in less than two hours. SOOOOO EXCITED
  20. Uhhhhm' date=' I think I am going to quote myself here from the "Underwear and cycleshorts" thread:
  21. Shall I add that those Zipps feel really fast and responsive?! ...I'm running do they have ceramic bearings? Nope, I'm too scared I can't handle the speed and the incredible frictionless advantage they give you! (Read: I'm too cheap for that! Plus in my mind you got to see the bling you pay for)
  22. Shall I add that those Zipps feel really fast and responsive?! ...I'm running
