  1. Indeed! Maybe the extra revenue will help them build some bike paths and do other cycling related projects. Just think of all the good things the Cape can get after Lance has graced it with his presence PS Why do you post that pic of me with my head in the sand everywhere on this thread?
  2. GREAT news for SA!!! Love him or hate him, it's going to do great things for the Cape
  3. True Windbreaker, but in Belgium it's even better because the road law specifically allows for clubs WITH SUPERVISORS to ride in bunches on the road even if cycle lanes are present! That is something SA can consider doing because it really is a lot more fun to ride in bunches on a training ride. Here in Holland my my club rides are usually done two abreast in a group of about 50 people. Cars don't stress. Just wait and pass when it's safe. You are right, it's the SA me-myself-I attitude that gets everyone all wound up!
  4. Horrible news once again. My condolences.
  5. Ja Samma' date=' it's one thing to wheelsuck and another to hold up the bunch. This guy was purposefully coming to the front and then practically hitting the brakes and holding up the bunch.[/quote'] Come on, it spices things up! What you do is you ask him nicely to f off to the back the first time. The second time you tell him you know his mother quite well. The third time you push him away with your hand. It is bound to get him upset and get the message across. If that doesn't work, just drop his negative a$$ by riding off your wheel (come on, you can do it). It's his job to defend, so get out there and kick his butt!
  6. That sucks. Real sorry to hear...
  7. LOVE th AC wheels. The perfect match for that frame. Very, very sweet ride!

    Stupid!!

Indeed, I did warn you guys... Anyway, not an I-told-you-so message, I wanted to wish you a speedy recovery! Relax, it's winter, take some time off and do something different. That way you come back hungry and ready for lots of cycling in spring. PS Those rail tracks are dangerous because that are exposed above the tar. If you don't hit them at 90 degrees you WILL fall in the wet. Rather get off and walk them to be sure. Bunnyhopping only advised for the young (who recover quickly) and the stupid. Rather take the N1, it's actually safer!
  9. better than WKO+?
  10. No worries TNT1, I'm just going to pop in a new battery and see if that works. If it doesn't I might have to accept that colonel is right and I have to produce some power first...
  11. At least there's some activity on this thread, though a meaningful reply would be useful, but I should have known better!!!!
  12. My display went funny and I can't get it back to normal. Is it a battery problem or do I need to take it to the cycling doctor?
  13. Remember that something like cortisone is banned in cycling IN COMPETITION. The reason for that is to protect riders from aggrivating an already existing injury. Imagine if they had to do that in rugby. The guys basically have to take a cortizone shot before running onto the field!!!
  14. Pops, just watch out for those railtracks in the harbour. Slippery as f... when it's wet and they are raised. I have the bruises to show for it! Best to try and catch Shortleg's slip on that route (but then he doesn't have any...)
  15. Having a pedantic afternoon are we? ...and remember Hubbers aren't known for their spelling (me included). Plus I said 'for a moment'!
  16. Phew, for a moment I thought they caught Steyn Devolder for doping!!!!!!! Glad to hear it's just a cricketplayer!
  17. Rebuilding an STI is like trying to fix Linux. You need years of experience to do the simplest thing and then you can boast to your friends you managed the most basic of repairs (and then you sell the crap and go and get something that works!)
  18. ...not a Specialized? You taking up track riding or are you just nostalgic?
  19. Not sure, but I can't remember any other bikes with a gearshift mechanism. You know one with a knob...
  20. Nope, looks like a custom job and the green saddle.....well, good thing it's not white!
  21. Cool bike. Is that a Chopper?
  22. Im sorry' date=' but as a man who likes a lambo- reventon rather than a flashy red ferrari I would be happy with something along these lines..[/quote'] that is what you want, that is what you get.... That's more like it, but luckily mine's not been in the sun for too long ...plus way, way more wallet friendly. Willehond2009-08-05 15:26:13
  23. So black is the new white (which was the new black last year)???? So glad the white bike thing is blowing over..
  24. Any chance of shipping one of those to the Netherlands?!
