    Here & there
  1. Be careful with this logic. Two issues: Although not as common, freeway direction signs can be green as well, explained below. With direction signs (as what you've posted), the background color depicts the road type you'll end up on if you follow the sign. It does not depict the road type you're on. From South African Road Traffic Signs Manual Volume 2, Chapter 5 - Freeway Signing, link Then from Guidance Signs - 3 - Freeway direction signs, link
  2. Careful now, he might just pop up with his excessive usage of exclamation marks, before threatening to leave again because nobody wants to play with him. The law is quite clear on this: you're not allowed to cycle on a freeway. A national road is not necessarily a freeway, and vice versa. Freeways cannot have any intersections where someone needs to stop; it should all be on- and off-ramps.
  3. What do you reckon will make the most noise? The 50cc engine, or the clutch/throttle cable rubbing against the front wheel?
  4. After dropping my wife off in Montague Gardens on the motorcycle, I think I saw him again at the Montague Drive/Koeberg Rd intersection, heading in the traffic department direction. Lately it seems like he's commuting with someone? Whatever light combo he has on the back definitely works when it's pitch black dark!
  5. @ +-6:30 in the mornings, I'm willing to go out and buy a hat, just to be able to take it off for you! Of all the commuters I see in the morning, you are the most visible with your massive flashing white & red lights on the back. I can literally see you from more than a mile away, and cars are leaving a noticeably larger gap when overtaking you. This morning I even witnessed vehicles slowing down to safely overtake you while on the hill just before the hairpin. Now if only the group of MTB guys training in the opposite direction will realize that giga-lumen forward facing lights are useless in traffic with their small red blinkers on the back. If you know this commuter, please give him a pat on the back!
  6. Like "science", "foreign" and "their"?
  7. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why we'll never win the Car vs Bicycle war
  8. For legal reasons I'd rather not hand out names, but the person I tracked down, is part of the "Air-Cooled Culture" group on Facebook, and from Worcester. Very suspect.
  9. Hopefully this is legal enough: That numberplate is for the Worcester area. A quick google search on the car and town yields cellphone numbers and names (Worcester is not that big). A quick glance at the facebook profiles for said names return one individual posing with very similar cars. Coincidence?
  10. There is also a big difference between Mxit and TheHubSA. So far, nobody has been "murdered". Also, if you want to threaten people online, make sure you do it in such a way were a 5th grader can't figure out the address & place of employment of both yourself and your girlfriend. Savanna won't be proud.
  11. Does he accept Western Union? Create a payment receipt at http://www.spyrkes.info/wugen2/index.php and mail to "Daniel" :-)
  12. You took the words straight out of my mouth
  13. Whoa Way to revive a 2y old thread
  14. Google & FB's my friend, David I'd say first fix the images's on your site, www.dekotech.co.za, & then add some photies of your paintwork. Then hop on over to www.google.com/adsense
  15. Same problem here. Dropped back to P to cycle with my fiance. We crossed the start & finish mats at the same time. According to Racetec I started in G & cycled exactly 21 minutes longer than her :-|
