  1. I almost took down 15 CSC riders (not wearing helmets) on monday's ride (the joys of a free ticket:D)! Riding just in front of the group I crashed straight into one of those waist high construction beacons... got it caught under my frame and in my wheels... thankfully i didnt crash i dont think they would have been too impressed
  2. Hey guys. Keeping your fitness levels constant, roughly how much do you think (or know?) taking 2kg off you bike weight will do to your time for a race like the argus? Chris
  3. So is it a myth that running is good for hill climbing?
  4. Hey. Ive been hearing alot about cross training lately - wat are the direct benefits of doing this (hill climbling etc??) Are there any kind of basic rules i should stick to with regard to time spent cross training and the type of trainig (ie. intervals vs. long distance)? Btw im a useless swimmer so crosstraining would be limited to running... Thanks, Chris
  5. I downloaded sporttracks and hav been looking around motionbased (both look great) but i couldnt seem to get cadence to show on the graphs like hr, speed and time do. does it record your cadence while you ride for download to your computer or is it only to look at while you ride?
  6. Thanks again to all replies The colour maps etc look great but i think a bit out of my budget (as too are the powertaps and similar) With the edge 305 / 301 can you upload an "altitude course" so you can see eg how much more of a hill to climb as you climb it? Do you find the 100 waypoint limits you? Am i gonna hav any problems if i buy a gps in america?
  7. Thanks for the power article - very helpful. As for gps, are the maps expensive and do they allow you to download a big enough area of the map so that you can do a long distance ride (ie. up to 200km odd) without running out of map?
  8. Hey Okay so a couple questions: Is measuring power all its cracked up to be? Is it better than using an hrm for training? How accurate are polar's power-measuring-attachments that measure power using your chain compared to sumthing like powerTap? Would i be wasting my money to buy one of garmin's bike gps? has anyone used one of them? Do they giv height profiles of a course, etc? Do you hav to buy maps seperately? Does it work like a polar hrm would work? Thanks Chris
